Special Post For California Corrections North Kern State Prison

Hello Folks at California Corrections North Kern State Prison,
I made this special post to my media blog so that you can take a peak at some of my video and films during my interview this morning.
I started this blog upon coming from California to Montana to work for the National Park Service in Yellowstone National Park in 2010.  Since then, I have posted over 1200 images and videos within the 115 posts on this site. I feel that the blog shows a great deal of my skill level as a online blogger, photojournalist and as a film maker. I shoot not only 35 mm color slide, digital and large format (4 X 5) still cameras, but many different type of motion picture cameras and video cameras as well. I am skilled on Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Edit, AVID Media Composer and Premire 6.5. and cut my teeth as an editor on flat beds while in film school.

In this specific post, I uploaded some of my video and films that I have made, including a section of a rough cut of my latest documentary, "The Coal Trains of Livingston, Montana" which is post production right now and near completion.
My hope is that by posting these productions, you will get a clear picture of my skills as a film/television producer and technician. All of these films, I wrote, shot, lighted, edited from conception to final cut. At the bottom of this page you will notice that I pasted my resume with many of the professional projects that I have been involved with as either a photojournalist or a lighting technician and independent film maker.  I have an AA in film production, a BA in photography, and over 25 years tenure in making films both as a producer of independent film and a lighting technician in professional film and television production.

Thank you,
Richard P. Belcher Jr.

My new website:     putahcreekphoto.weebly.com      You can view many of my articles for publication with the California  Department of Fish and Game's publication, "Outdoor California Magazine". and hundreds of my many photographs from my years at work as a photojournalist.

My first video I direct you to is called, "Chile; A Journey of Parade and Protest". This is a compilation of my photographic work in South America.  I made then ten journeys to Chile and Argentina between 1999-2007 as a photojournalist.

I was hired as the Director of Photography for this short satire "Aguaho?" on water rights in Northern California. I think it highlights some of my skills as a photographer covering nature and working in a remote and difficult terrain.

This short video "Bill and Courtney's Wedding" is shot with my Canon XLS1 mini camcorder and edited on Final Cut Suite.

This video is a collage of several movies that I had made in the past. "Crackerville" was
narrative feature film which I wrote, directed, shot, edited and acted in. "Rodeo Entertainment" and "Critical Mass" were two one hour documentaries that I wrote, shot and edited. And the "Darkest Hour" was a movie narrative short shot in 16 mm film which I did the lighting for as a gaffer and lighting director.

This video commercial "FADAE"is a compilation of images taken at an arms convention in Santiago, Chile.

This video "My Favorite Student" is a documentary about my grandmother. I created this piece for a university class while in Photography school.

This video "Sathya; Performance Artist" is an event film covering a fire dance artist which I shot and edited in Santiago, Chile.

These next two videos "The Bedlam Rovers;Take One" which were shot live in a multi camera event which I directed, shot and edited on a flatbed linear system. I also cut the color negative A/B roll before the final roll.

This short music video "Chickeebob" was shot as a promotional piece for the band so as to highlight their music for promotion and to keep my editing skills in practice.

This video is my latest project, a documentary called "The Coal Trains of Livingston Montana." I am currently still shooting and editing this piece and expect to have it out for distribution by early spring 2014.

And finally, this short video "Riot; Los Malitos" was shot in Santiago, Chile by a journalist with a consumer camera during a large protest.  I edited the rough piece into a video with title fonts and voice over narration.
